Thursday: New Moon - water temp 71.1 N 5-7mph in the a.m. / 71.8 SSW 7-9mph in the p.m. The water was crystal clear. There were Cigar Minnows around but were not eating. Schools of Sheepshead were swimming through with some on the pilings. A couple of Flounder were caught but had to be released. Catching anything would prove to be very slow.
Friday: water temp 71.8 NE 4-6mph in the a.m. / 72.7 SE 7-10mph in the p.m. The water was clear. There were a couple of Flounder, and some Cigar Minnows caught.
Saturday: water temp 72.1 S 6-8mph in the a.m. / 72.9 W 9-12mph in the p.m. The water was clean. There were three “schoolie” King Mackerel in the morning like the one Brenda is holding. The remainder of the day saw a few Flounder, a couple of Whiting and some trash fish. Late afternoon until dark there were a few more Kings. Dar Win holds a couple he decked. A few Cigar Minnows were around for bait.

Sunday: water temp 72.1 NNW 5-9mph in the a.m. / 72.9 WSW 6-9mph in the p.m. The water was clean. The morning was dead except for a large Flounder and some trash fish. The King Mackerel bite exploded in the afternoon. There were around 20 Kings that hit the deck. Haden V. caught his limit. Jack G. and Hayden N. decked fish as well. Cigar Minnows were available for live bait. In other excitement, a sailboat drifted into the side of the pier. Apparently, the occupant had fallen asleep.


Monday: water temp 71.4 ENE 8-11mph in the a.m. / 72.7 SSE 13-18mph in the p.m. The water was clean. There was a short King Mackerel bite late afternoon. Four were caught by Casey, Danny, Jeffrey and Brenda. Cigar Minnows were available for live bait.
Tuesday: water temp 72.1 SE 10-16mph in the a.m. / 73.4 SE 8-10mph in the p.m. The water was clean. The King Mackerel bite turned on this morning. Over 15 fish up to about 17-pounds were put on the deck. The afternoon was slow- only a couple of Spanish Mackerel and trash fish. Cigar Minnows were available for live bait.
Wednesday: water temp 72.7 WNW 5-10mph in the a.m. / 72.1 N 4-6mph in the p.m. The water was clean. It was a slow day. There were a couple of “Bull” Red Drum caught off the end Tee this morning. The rest of the day saw a few Spanish Mackerel, a couple of Flounder and some trash fish.
- Red Tide status: In Northwest Florida over the past week, K. brevis was observed at background to medium concentrations in Bay County, background to high concentrations in Gulf County, and low concentrations in Franklin County.
- Over the past week, the red tide organism, Karenia brevis, was observed in 31 samples from Florida’s Gulf Coast. Bloom concentrations (>100,000 cells/liter) were observed in 12 samples from Northwest Florida. We continue to use satellite imagery (USF and NOAA NCCOS) to help track nearshore and offshore conditions. Imagery from November 20 revealed slightly elevated chlorophyll levels in Northwest Florida from Bay County to Franklin County.
